No doubt monsoon is quite a pleasurable time as it comes as a relief after all the heat. Though it is a treat for the heart and mind but certainly not for our skin. While most of you might take good care of your skin with a specific regime that may work too well in summer or winter but that might not be the case in monsoon season. In this season we need to take extra car of our skin as it experiences humidity, heat, sweat and most of all moisture, with changing whether skin gets affected the most. Your skin suddenly starts looking oily or shiny or may be sometimes dry and dull. Excess washing to remove all dirt and oiliness may result adversely and harm your skin. Though different people have different skin types but all get affected in this season. But if you change the way you take care of skin slightly might yield positive results for your skin during monsoon season. Here are some home remedies which can help you.
- Scrubbing: This is really important for all those people with oily skin. You should be washing your face at least 3-4 times a day to remove excess oil but do not over do it. Then scrub your skin regularly in gentle circular motion. You should use natural homemade scrub instead of chemically loaded scrub. You can use papaya and curd scrub and mix them both with a pinch of lemon juice and rinse off after scrubbing for few minutes. You can also use lemon and salt scrub. Mix them in equal amounts and scrub your face. Salt is a really good scrubber for skin and lemon helps you get rid of dark spots and blemishes.
- Oatmeal mask: Oatmeal has great health benefits but it also has great skin benefits as well, it exfoliates your skin and helps it get rid of dead skin cells and dirt. Make a mask by mixing 3 spoons of oatmeal with egg white, 1 spoon honey and 1 spoon curd and turn it into a smooth paste. Apply this mask on your clean face and leave it for 25 minutes, then rinse with water. Repeat this once or twice a week.
3. Fuller’s Earth: Fuller’s earth or commonly called multani mitti is a great cleansing agent. It contains a lot of minerals which leaves your skin smooth and flawless. It hydrates your skin and leaves it glowing. Mix 2 spoons of fuller’s earth with 1 spoon curd, half a spoon lemon juice and a pinch of turmeric and make a paste. Apply it evenly on your skin and leave it on for 20minutes and let it dry. Then wash it off with cold water. Repeat it at least once every week.
- Gram Flour and turmeric: Turmeric is an excellent antiseptic which will prevent your skin against any infection in monsoon, it also lightens your skin that helps minimize scars and other marks. Plus, turmeric can ease allergic and infectious skin disorders that make your skin dull, dry and lifeless. Make a paste of 1 tablespoon turmeric with 3 table spoons of gram flour in 1 spoon curd. Apply the paste evenly on your skin and leave until dry. Wash off massaging gently. Use the remedy once or twice a week for fairer flawless skin.
